On 1st July 2007 the ban on smoking in all enclosed public spaces began across England.
All of the 55,000 pubs and countless restaurants in England and Wales have been affected.
Many have designated an outside smoking area to prevent a loss of business and most will choose to heat it to encourage use at night and in Winter.
Until now a popular choice for outdoor heating has been with gas cylinders also known as  “patio heaters”. They may have the disadvantage of being heavy, inconvenient and expensive to refuel.

There is also growing concern about the detrimental effect these may have on the environment. A standard gas patio heater can produce the same amount of carbon dioxide in 2 hours as a car produces in a day!
